Oh my... I haven't blogged in nine days! I think that's some kind of record. So where have I been? Well I was sick for awhile... also we've just finished up the last week of classes for the term (final exams are next week), so that's definitely been keeping me busy!

One of my classes this term that I haven't shared much about is web design. I started learning HTML on my own back in the late 90's, and have picked up little bits of CSS here and there since then (basically enough to wrangle my blog into doing what I want it to do), but I've never really sat down and figured out how to design an entire website. I must say, it's pretty fun!

Embarrasing-ly enough, I'm the absolute best in this class (which isn't saying much). I got the feeling that everyone else was basically starting from square one on learning HTML/CSS, so I suppose they're not doing too bad for only having studied this for three months. Even so... I really have enjoyed the class and just having the time to wrap my head around CSS a bit better. Learning CSS has been on my "to do" list for a few years now, so nice that I'm well on my way now! (Well, I know the basics now anyway. There's still a lot I haven't a clue about. Lol.)

Anyway...

In case you wanted to browse around my class projects, you can click the images below to take you to my class project pages. This first project is mostly done, but I didn't actually finish linking a couple of the pages. We were assigned to make a band website, and only required to link 3 pages to the homepage, so I've actually done more than what was asked for, but it still feels incomplete to me since not all the links work yet. We could choose any band and had to find all images and content on our own, as well as design the layout, color scheme, etc.

Our final project was to create a site for a yoga studio. We were given about half the images and all of the words, but we had to design the rest from the ground up (design the company logo, make up the site layout, pick the fonts, colors, etc, etc). Every page had to be working and functional, as though we were actually designing this for a real yoga studio. (You may actually recognize the background pattern as one that I used on my own blog a few months back!).

So that's what I've been up to lately! I miss you guys and hope to get back on a regular blogging schedule soon! It'll be easier during the start of the new term when there isn't as much to do yet (as opposed to the end of a term when ten million things are due all at once!)

Leaving links in my comments won't work.
Don't even try it, people!
