Via Once Upon a Time in Wonderland UNDECIDED I really wanted to like this show, but so far it's pretty boring (granted I've only made it through one episode, so it may get better). I love Once Upon a Time and it's spin on all the fairy tales, but Once Upon a Time in Wonderland doesn't have that same charm for some reason. It's largely centered around Alice and Aladdin's genie (who are in love), as they try to escape from Jafar and the Queen of Hearts. Bizarre? Yes, definitely. Bizarre in a good way? I'm not so sure. Moonrise Kingdom Kind of an odd movie, but kind of cute too. It's basically about two twelve-year-olds who run away because they're in love, as well as all the hi-jinks the local town gets into trying to find them. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Continuum: Season 2 Love this show! Season 2 is now on Netflix , if you've got that. This Candian sci-fi series follows an accidental time-traveler, Kiera Cameron, as she tries to solve the mysteries of the past (our present) to save her present (our future). There are no Terminators or Cylons, but this sci-fi is still super interesting and hard to stop watching! I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I was just realizing the other day that it's been awhile since I've reviewed any tv shows/ movies! I do watch things pretty often, if only to relax after a long day's work in the graphics lab. Time to actually review said movies... well, that's a little harder to come by! Premium Rush Speaking of New York City, Premium Rush definitely makes you feel like you are right in the middle of Manhattan. It follows a day in the life of a New York bike messenger (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who's been given a package to deliver that a mysterious stranger would do anything to get back from him. It's definitely an edge-of-your-seat kind of movie and has absolutely beautiful street views of the city. I loved the storyline and the characters and would definitely watch this one again. Just to be clear, I've only been watching this show for about three seasons, but it's already driving me nuts with it's strange rules that seem to reward randomness instead of actually playing the game. For one thing... why does it seem like every other week is a non-elimination leg? This doesn't seem like a very competitive way to set up a game. Can you imagine any other game giving someone a freebie every other turn? Why do they think that'd be entertaining to watch? I would think as a player, too, that it would make that leg feel like a pointless waste of time because you're not any closer to being the final team than you were a leg ago. What if instead of non-elimination legs, let teams earn a pass that would allow them to not be eliminated if they came in last. There'd only be one pass in the game at any one time, so teams wouldn't be eligible to earn another one until whichever pass was out there had been used. Teams could also choose to spen...

I haven't had much time to stay caught up on the new Fall shows, but I've tried to watch at least the pilots of the ones that intrigued me. Here's what I thought... Via 666 Park Avenue   2 THUMBS UP Definitely worth watching. Reminds me of a Stephen King novel. A couple takes a job at a hotel where things aren't always what they appear to be. Arrow 1 THUMB UP Pretty interesting so far. Robin Hood meets Batman. Hopefully it won't devolve into just another villan-of-the-week show. Update --> 1 THUMB DOWN Upon further thought, I don't have time for this show. I'm several weeks behind and don't have any motivation to continue it at this time. Can I just say... if you haven't started watching Grey's Anatomy yet this season, start with episode 2 and then go back and watch episode 1. It'll make a LOT more sense. >>>>>>SPOILERS BELOW<<<<<< via First of all... I spent the first half of episode one wondering why Cali was crying so much. Had Arizona died? Did I miss something? Everything else (mostly) made sense, although it seemed strange that Meredith and Derek constantly referred to vague things like, "Are you sure you want to do this today ?" or "It's almost 5:00!" I hate it when writer's write a script that way, intentionally keeping something obviously vague. When they killed George (way back a million seasons ago), it was a much more elegant script-writing, I'm just saying. I have this rule for myself that I have to watch through the opening credits of a show at least twice a year: once at the season premiere, and once at the season finale, so that I remember them. In this era of TiVo, I generally fast-forward through this part so I can just start watching the show each week, but there really is something great and memory-making about hearing a show's theme music! Plus a show's opening sequence is usually pretty fun and creative in and of itself. Here are a few recent-ish openings that I like. What are your favorite theme songs?

This is the last round of my 80's movie guess game. Here are some of the movies I've been watching lately. I must say, all three were really good! Have you seen them yet? Abduction   Abduction was really good. Great storyline, lots of big-name actors, really keeps you guessing right to the end about who is a "good guy" and who is a "bad guy". It starts out as the whole "what would you do if you found your own face on a milk carton?" plot, but really pushed it to a thrilling, action plot-line! I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Hanna Hanna was a fascinating movie. It was half a coming-of-age story, and half an assassin-spy movie. Overall, it kept me interested and anxious to find out what would happen next! Bunheads Did you catch the new show, Bunheads this week? You can watch the first episode on the ABC Family website if you missed it. I think it might have potential, since it's written by the same lady who wrote Gilmore Girls, but so far it's a bit obnoxious. Hopefully it gets better. I give it a 1.5 out of 5 stars. One for the Money I'm probably the only one who hasn't read this book series, but after seeing One for the Money, which is based off the first book in a series by Janet Evanovich, I think I just might have to. This movie (for those of you who live under a rock like I do) follows department-store-clerk-turned-bounty-hunter, Stephanie Plum, as she tries to track down her ex-boyfriend who jumped bail. Very funny, interesting storyline, and mostly clean. (There were some potentially questionable scenes, but they were handled pretty tastefully). I give it a 3.75 out of 5 stars. Lexie died. I wish Shonda Rhimes would stop killing off my people. Almost more maddening than that though was that this episode treated her death like it was no big deal. It occurred w/in the first 20 minutes of the show, with no real build-up or anticipation, in between cutting back and forth to Seattle Grace doctors laughing and sniveling at each other and carrying on with their everyday lives. It all just felt very anticlimactic, despite stellar performances from Ellen Pompeo and Eric Dane. Like any good student, I'm adept at procrastination. Here are some of the movies/shows that have been helping me! ;) Felicity I re-watched the entire series of Felicity recently (all 4 seasons). I'd forgotten how it all ended - kinda crazy! Is it just me, or should they have ended the show after the college graduation episode? Other than that... LOVE this show and could watch it every day. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. Contagion This was a typical disaster movie, but I tend to enjoy those, so it was fun. Best part was that they saved the origin reveal until the very end! Another Earth Not the sci-fi adventure that this sounds like, this was a fascinating indie film shot with basically no budget in the filmmaker's own house, and which surprisingly co-starred an actual semi-famous-guy (who, as it turns out, basically did it for nothing because he liked the script). Good morning, lovely readers! It's Disney movie time! I was inspired by the recent list over at It's Just Called Spicy , although I must admit, their list made me feel a bit old, considering I haven't heard of half the movies they listed. I guess that's fine though, because there are plenty of awesome movies from my own childhood to reminisce on! Hopefully you won't mind if I add a few live-action movies in here among the cartoons - Disney made some pretty great movie-movies when I was younger (and just before). ***** I'm curious how many of you have seen all of these? Or maybe you have your own favorites? List them below! ***** And so, without further ado, we have here, listed in order by release date... my 10 favorite Disney movies!

Dance Academy Dance Academy is an Australian show about a girl from a ranch who moves to Sydney to enroll in a ballet school. Of course, there's a lot of the typical teen high school drama that are in most shows of this genre (girl crushes on boy who doesn't know she exists... meanwhile her best guy friend is crushing on her). I can't ever seem to get enough of that type of goopy drama, and centering it around the ballet world  makes it all the more interesting! Plus I love the Australian accents!! ;) I found this show on Netflix and totally fell in love with it. It has a slight Center Stage vibe to it, if you've ever seen that movie, but does very well at not being totally predictable. There's only one season available in the US so far, but I can't wait for season 2! I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
