Slowly Adjusting to Life in So Cal

Well, I haven't worn long pants or real shoes in about two weeks now. Lol. It's hot the second I wake up, but when the sun goes down, the evenings are very pleasant (that's when I try to do my shopping and errands). The errands we have had to run during the day result in lots and lots of sweat, but on the bright side, this pasty, white Oregonian is actually starting to tan! Never thought I'd be able to say that! I'm notoriously un-tannable. Lol.

I don't know if you care to see my feet, but my sister found nearly free nail polish on her weekly grocery run, so I got three shades for $2 total! Wow! I am not nearly as savvy with couponing as she is, but maybe now that we're living nearby, some of that will rub off. ;)

We had a broken air conditioner the first few days and we all thought we were going to die, but it's fixed now so we're all able to relax in a fairly cool apartment during the day. We had to dunk Carlita in the sink three times a day while the AC was out, but now that we've got it again, she's back to her old tricks of stealing my bed!

Here was the view from our front walk this morning. We left early to head down to a meeting in L.A. We also stopped and got a bed for me from Craigslist. No more sleeping on an air mattress! (We had to leave all our furniture in Oregon).

  1. I remember the never ending heat that So.Ca is! Glad the air got fixed in the apt!

  2. Great deal on that nail polish! I understand the heat....Lord have mercy I'm praying for January here!

I have come to the realization that I may have been mis-typed. I have often taken personality tests and generally come up with the result that I am INFP. I recently took a test that said I was INFJ actually, and the more I have been researching, the more that actually sounds like me.

What it really comes down to is the external/internal focus of the different functions (a topic that I'm still trying to wrap my head around, so I apologize if I don't explain it right). The I--J tends to actually function more as a "Perceiver" than a "Judger", contrary to what you might think (and vice versa for the I--P), which is a common reason these two types are mistaken for each other. How it actually plays out though is quite distinctive, which is why once I started reading more about INFJ's, I realized how much more like me it sounded. Basically, there are...

DIY Art Journal

Hi, my name is Linda and I am a 25 year old law student living in Manhattan. I blog over at My Passion Is... about my life, scrapbooking, DIY crafts, photography, exploring NYC & more. I am honored to be sharing a post with you today on Jen's blog, so thanks for having me!

I recently completed a mini album that I made out of a pasta box so I wanted to share a tutorial with you so you could make your own!

What you need:
empty pasta box [I used a whole foods penne pasta]scrapbook papers & embellishmentsa single hole punchsturdy tape [like packaging tape]a paper cutter and/or scissorssome sort of binding, either binding rings or ribbon First, you are going to flatten out your pasta box.

Then you are going to cut it down to two 6x6 squares [or whatever size album you want to make]. If the box doesn’t fit perfectly in those shapes that’s alright, just piece them together using packaging tape to hold the squares together. Once you cover them it won’t matter anymore. Make sure t…

Vintage Travel Poster

One of our projects this coming term is to do a computer illustration of a painted vintage travel poster. I've been Googling some options and here are some that I like. Which would you pick?
