7 Random Things About Me

Since I seem to have gained a plethora of new readers lately, I thought it'd be about time to do another About Me post! I just want to welcome everyone in and help you feel at home, so figured this would be a good way to do that. And since I've been awarded a couple blog awards lately that I keep forgetting to mention, that seemed like it'd be a good platform for this!

I was awarded the Versatile Blogger award by Debbie Does Creations back in March. Thanks, Debbie! Now I'm supposed to tell you 7 random things about me and nominate 15 other bloggers to join in. In the spirit of not making this an ever-expanding chain-letter of an award, I'm going to change the rules and nominate 3. (Hey, it's my blog and I can change the rules if I want to!)

7 Random Things About Me

I'm a major introvert. Seriously. I could not speak to anyone for a week and be perfectly content with that.

I went back to school at 32 to become a graphic designer! It's never too late to discover your passion.

I tend to like making how-to posts about blogging. Not sure why. I think it's because I wish someone had had lists like these to reference and learn from when I first starting blogging.

My hair is naturally red, though has mellowed with age and now looks brown. I still think of myself as a red-head though.

My personality type is INFp, which makes me prone to daydreaming, being late to things, and taking personality tests.

I dream of being able to travel and I'd really love to visit (&/or live in) NYC, Sydney, Toronto, and Venice.

If I had a superpower, I think I'd like to be able to fly. It seems like it'd be a super useful and interesting way to get around. Plus you wouldn't have to deal with road rage or nosy commuters on the train.

{I nominate: Angie, Nikkiana, and Jeana}

Nyla awarded me with the Lovely Blog award the other day. I'm supposed to describe what I believe makes a lovely blog and then award other bloggers with it. So let's see...

What makes a lovely blog... according to me

I love it when a blogger gets real. Not super negative or super TMI (I really don't need to know about your childbirth story, thank you very much), but I do love when a blogger shares a creative project that they're working on, photos of their day, or talks honestly about a struggle they're having in life. Blogs that continuously post giveaways and Pinterest inspiration get a little boring to me (not that those things aren't fun in moderation!), and I'd rather know what makes you a special and unique snowflake!

{I nominate: Meg, Alycia, and Putdar.

  3. I'm an introvert also, it's much easier for me to "meet" people through blogging than in real life. And I love your definition of a lovely blog - I feel much the same way!

    1. Me too! When I'm around too much activity and people, I tend to get cranky and moody. Not helpful for being creative!

Meet a Designer: Stephanie Kubo

I stumbled across a completely fascinating artist today, Stephanie Kubo . Her portfolio doesn't state if she's a working designer, illustrator, etc, but her work is exquisite so I think she fits the bill for including in my Meet a Designer series. Enjoy! (Linking up with Kristen Victoria ).

DIY Art Journal

Hi, my name is Linda and I am a 25 year old law student living in Manhattan. I blog over at My Passion Is... about my life, scrapbooking, DIY crafts, photography, exploring NYC & more. I am honored to be sharing a post with you today on Jen's blog, so thanks for having me! I recently completed a mini album that I made out of a pasta box so I wanted to share a tutorial with you so you could make your own! What you need: empty pasta box [I used a whole foods penne pasta] scrapbook papers & embellishments a single hole punch sturdy tape [like packaging tape] a paper cutter and/or scissors some sort of binding, either binding rings or ribbon First, you are going to flatten out your pasta box. Then you are going to cut it down to two 6x6 squares [or whatever size album you want to make]. If the box doesn’t fit perfectly in those shapes that’s alright, just piece them together using packaging tape to hold the squares together. Once you cover them i
